MMA & MRF Call-to-Action: Support the RPM Act!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AND ACTION!
Today, Megan Ekstrom, the Vice President of Government Affairs for the Motorcycle Riders Foundation, attended a congressional hearing that considered the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act (or ‘RPM’ Act). The RPM Act is critical legislation that became necessary after the EPA attempted to modify language that would make it illegal for you to make modifications to your motorcycle, even if it is for the purposes of racing.
Although thanks to the diligence of the MRF, the Agency ultimately withdrew the language, even today they still maintain they have the authority to enforce this - likely resulting in fines for the vast majority of us!
If you believe that you should maintain the right to customize your motorcycle, we MUST get this legislation passed! But despite broad bipartisan support, it's possible that this legislation may not reach the floor for a vote.
PLEASE CLICK the following link today that will take you to a pre-drafted letter to your elected officials asking them to consider the RPM Act for a vote:
