FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MMA Appoints Governor's Highway Safety Committee Representative

At the April meeting of the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association Board-of-Directors, the MMA unanimously appointed former MMA Chairman Kevin Griffin of Plymouth, MA, as their appointed representative to the Massachusetts Governor’s Highway Safety Committee.

The position creating a representative to the Governor’s Highway Safety Committee was signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick at the end of January, 2014.  This committee was created by Legislation, but until now had no representation from the motorcycling community.  Upon signing, the MMA immediately opened the opportunity to its membership, receiving a number of nominations from around the Commonwealth.

MMA Chairman Dave Condon noted, “we thank all those who expressed interest in the position, and are extremely proud that someone with such strong credentials also volunteered their services for such an important position.  Kevin was my immediate predecessor as Chairman of the MMA, serving the organization and the riders of this State with selflessness and distinction!”

Mr. Griffin has been an avid licensed motorcycle operator for over 30 years in Massachusetts, bringing a wealth of experience serving not only the MMA, but other States' and National Motorcycle Rights Organizations.  For the MMA, Kevin has served in several County, District, and Statewide positions including Chairman of the Board-of-Directors.  Despite voluntarily stepping down as Chairman in 2008, Kevin continued to serve the riders as Ex Officio to the Board, and has been active in various meetings and MMA events speaking and writing on behalf of all motorcyclists of Massachusetts.  As designated appointee from the MMA, Kevin brings a vast perspective as a rider and as someone who understands the implications of the Legislative and Government processes.

The MMA Board-of-Directors offers its congratulations and thanks to Kevin Griffin for once again stepping up to the plate to support the riders of the Commonwealth!
