MMA Members eligible for 5% motor vehicle insurance discount !
(Boston, MA) Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation (PRAC) and the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA), have been approved by the Division of Insurance and entered into an agreement that now allows MMA members to receive a 5% discount on their motor vehicle insurance.
"This has been more than a 4-year effort with a lot of work from a lot of our officers," said Kevin Griffin, Chairman of the MMA. "I've crunched the numbers in my household. Paying over $6,000 for 2 cars and 2 motorcycles, I'll be saving more than $300 a year. And I think a lot of our members will see similar savings."
MMA "individual" members can now get this 5% discount on vehicles in their names.
If you have other vehicles in your household under your spouses or kids names, you would need to 'upgrade' your MMA 'Individual Membership' ($25/yr) to a MMA 'Family' Membership ($35/yr) for only an additional $10/yr and then list those family members as "Associate MMA Members" under your membership. Up to three persons can be 'Associate Members' on your membership. You can upgrade on-line after logging in under your membership name, or simply mail in a membership upgrade request with $10 and provide us a list the names of the 'associate members' in your household.
WARNING - It may not benefit you to switch over your insurance at this time - but rather when your motor vehicle insurance renews.
Check your coverage selections page - see when your policies expire. If you cancel now and switch over to a Plymouth Rock policy - you may be charged by your former Insurance Company a penalty called a 'short rate premium' - for canceling during your Policy Period. That 'penalty' may EAT UP any discount under this new members benefit Plan. However, you can ask the selected Plymouth Rock agents to put you on a 'call-back' dairy - at the time of your current policy expiration period, and they can switch you over at your renewal time.
SELECTED AGENTS ONLY have been assigned to this MMA Group Membership discount plan by Plymouth Rock. You must contact one of these PRAC Agents. They will NOT contact you (unless you request they call you back).
Simply have your coverage selections page handy. Tell them you're a member of the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association. Tell them you'd like to talk about the 5% MMA member discount for your vehicle(s).
They will take down some basic information, ask you who you're insured with now and when your Policy expires. They will calculate the savings and advise you. If it would be best for you (financially) to wait - they will advise you of this and ask if you'd like to be put on their 'call - back' list when your current policy is about to expire. If it is best for you to switch now to Plymouth Rock, . . . they will MAIL YOU the paperwork for your signature and return. (Agencies participating in this are mostly located in Middlesex County and if that is close to you - you can go to the agency in person).
Homeowners Coverage Savings.
MMA members will also be eligible for up to 20% discounts on their Homeowners Policies, through a Plymouth Rock Subsidiary, Bunker Hill Insurance Company.
Your $25 or $35 MMA membership can now save you money on your car, truck, motorcycle and homeowners insurance. After at least one full year - the MMA and PRAC will 'crunch the numbers' for potential increase in this discount.
