MMA Update: Vasco Nunez elected District 2 Representative
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Massachusetts Motorcycle Association is pleased to welcome Vasco Nunez as District 2’s Interim Representative to the MMA Board-of-Directors. At a recent meeting held during last month’s MMA Storm the State House, active MMA members from Barnstable, Bristol, Norfolk, and Plymouth Counties along with Norfolk County Representative Ray Pike and Plymouth County Representative Hal Johnson, gathered together and participated in this interim election. Vasco was the sole individual nominated and the election vote was unanimous.

Vasco is a long-time member of the MMA, has been very active in Barnstable County, and is looking forward to working with MMA’s District 2 Members and the Board-of-Directors. One of Vasco’s first goals will be to help the County Representatives organize local meetings to strengthen the MMA’s Legislative Agenda, and garner strength from motorcyclists across the South Shore, Cape Cod, and the Islands.
Vasco expressed to the District 2 Membership, "Thank you for the support! As your trusted representative, I'm excited about my new position, and am looking forward to working with all of you in District 2 and the Board-of-Directors. My door is open to all MMA members."
This District 2 Representative position has been vacant since October 2014, and Vasco stepping-up for this position fills a critical void for the D2 membership who now have a membership representative for the District at the table during Board meetings.
MMA bylaws state that formal District Representatives are elected by active District Members in good standing annually in October; with an absence of other provisions, this election bridges the gap until October 2015's election is held.
Please join the MMA Board-of-Directors in welcoming Vasco as District 2 Representative and stay tuned for announcements of local meetings within District 2's Counties of Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Norfolk, and Plymouth.
