MMA CTA: Motorcyclists on the Governor's Highway Safety Committee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA) would like to remind the motorcyclists of Massachusetts that we are almost half-way to getting a seat for motorcycle representation on the Governor's Highway Safety Committee.   This 10-seat safety committee has representatives from the trucking, bus, taxi, bicycle, and other interests, but lacks any representation from motorcyclists.

MMA authored House Bill Number 3046 passed the MA House of Representatives and currently sits with a Senate Committee awaiting its next movement.  Formally re-numbered to House Bill Number 3787 (H.3787), this bill to create an 11th seat on the Safety Committee to specifically to address motorcycle safety interests.

This is where you come in - we need you to write a letter to your Senator to ask for his or her support of H.3787 and have your Senator’s letter specifically ask the Chairman of the Senate Ethics and Rules Committee, Senator Stanley Rosenberg, to issue a “Favorable, Ought to Pass” recommendation for H.3787, moving it to the Senate floor for a vote.

There are only 40 Massachusetts Senators and we need every one to receive a letter from their constituents requesting support for H.3787.

Letters should be sent to your State Senator (find their info here: https://malegislature.gov) and copy:

Honorable Senator Stanley Rosenberg
Chairman, Senate Ethics and Rules Committee
State House
Room 333
Boston, MA  02133

This is a common-sense safety bill that passed the House favorably, and with your help, this Bill can continue through the Senate onto the Governor’s desk for passage.

If you wish for some help with your letter or need to learn the contact information for your Senator, please contact LegislativeDirector@MassMotorcycle.org or visit https://malegislature.gov/people/search
