MMA "Motorcycle Out of State Riders Bill" for the
2011-2012 Legislative Session

Many motorcycle riders avoid the state of Massachusetts because of its' restrictive Mandatory Helmet Law.   Even though a rider may live in another state that allows "Freedom of Choice" and pays taxes and registration fees in that state, he\she still must abide by Massachusetts' Mandatory Helmet Law.

Senate Bill Number 1749 filed by Senator Robert Hedlund on behalf of the MMA is supported by 6 co-Sponsors and seeks to allow riders from Helmet Choice states to exercise their freedoms while in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
